Allowing Origin Client through my firewall I keep getting an "Error Loading Webpage" message. Now I can't get Origin to download at all. After taking some measures to get the game to work, including updating and repairing the game in Origin, I decided to uninstall and reinstall Origin itself. After purchasing and downloading these in Origin, I could not open Sims 4. I heard about the amazing sale that was going on, so I bought a few new stuff packs to hopefully make the experience more fun. I didn't really love it as much as the previous versions so I haven't been playing. I seem to have gotten myself into quite the predicament here. That FAQ can be found here.TL DR: Uninstalled Origin and can't reinstall it An FAQ was put together to cover the end-of-life of The Sims 2 and the free offer. It seems like they decided to open that up to all players though. Recently EA offered The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free only to those who had previously purchased The Sims 2. The offer is only available from now until July 31st at 10am Pacific time, so be sure to redeem your code before then if you want to be able to enjoy The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection with your Origin account. EA has announced that they will no longer support the title, which already has a sequel available and another about to release. The Sims 2 is currently not available for purchase on Origin, so if you want the game this is the only way to get it at this time. Considering how heavily The Sims franchise relies on expansions, this is a ton of content being offered for free.
The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection contains the original The Sims 2 game as well as every expansion pack and stuff pack.
You’ll need to download the Origin client to your PC to play the game. After you have an account follow the directions above. If you do not have an Origin account already then you can sign up for one here. Hit next again and the game will automatically be added to your account free of charge. Enter the code I-LOVE-THE-SIMS and hit next. If you already have an Origin account all you need to do is head over to the Origin code redemption page and log in.
